SALON is an initiative to build relationships between NSW artists/producers and presenters: a small-scale, lo-fi conversation starter without the bells and whistles of a full-blown showcase.
NSW artists, producers, and presenters, regional and metro, have identified a lack of opportunities for connecting and building relationships across the state. Arts on Tour's annual event, Salon, seeks to address this.
SALON is a platform for Pecha Kucha-style pitches from artists and producers to facilitate connections with NAPACA members and community venues around work. NAPACA is NSW and ACT's Performing Arts Centres Association.
We aim to present two Salon events each year, one in Sydney and one regionally.
JOIN US: hear from artists, producers and presenters
Artists and producers can apply to present a short pitch (2-4 minutes) about their work at the event through an EOI process. Arts on Tour brings together an assessment panel of producers and presenters to assess the EOIs and select works to pitch. We also hear from selected venues about their programming strategies, audiences and partnership opportunities.
SALON also includes a networking element where attendees have the opportunity to talk to fellow producers, artists and venue managers and discuss work, programming and audiences.
Let's get together!

Selected artists and producers present pitches of up to 4 minutes each. These pitches may be tour ready work, works in development and ideas looking for partnerships.
Pitches can be from all genres of the performing arts and from productions looking to tour to venues, large and small for 2023 and beyond. EOIs for Sydney 2022 are now closed.

Arts on Tour is based in Redfern NSW and we respectfully acknowledge the Gadigal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the unceded land on which we work.
As we tour artists and productions across these vast lands, we pay our respect to all First Nations Elders, past, present and future.
We celebrate their continuing connection and contribution to culture, country and community, and thank all First Nations peoples for their wisdom in caring for the land, the sky, the rivers and the sea.
